
GAINESVILLE, Fla. — The Florida Women’s Basketball Team erased a 13-point deficit in the fourth quarter on Sunday afternoon, but Tulsa (8-4) closed the game with an 8-0 run to seal the win. The loss dropped the Gators to 11-3 overall, ending both their 10-game home winning streak and their 15-game non-conference home streak. Liv McGill paced Florida with 19 points and nine assists.
KEY RUNS
1st Quarter (Golden Hurricane 20, Gators 15)
- Tulsa led 12-11 with 3:08 remaining and scored six of the next eight points to build their largest lead of the quarter at 18-13. The Golden Hurricane shot 8-of-14, while Florida went 7-of-20. The Gators dominated the boards 13-6, including an 8-1 edge on the offensive glass. Mady Cartwright led all scorers with eight points.
2nd Quarter (Golden Hurricane 38, Gators 35)
- Florida opened the quarter with eight of the first 11 points to tie the game at 23, forcing Tulsa to call a timeout. The Gators briefly took the lead at 27-26, but Tulsa answered with 11 of the next 15 points. Florida shot 9-of-12 in the period, while Tulsa went 6-of-16, with five of those makes coming from beyond the arc. Liv McGill scored eight to lead all scorers.
3rd Quarter (Golden Hurricane 57, Gators 46)
- With Tulsa ahead 43-39 at the 6:03 mark, the Golden Hurricane went on a 5-0 spurt and later scored 11 of the next 13 points to extend their lead to 54-31. Tulsa shot 6-of-10, including two three-pointers, and added five points from the free throw line. Florida managed just 4-of-13 shooting and committed 10 turnovers.
4th Quarter (Golden Hurricane 74, Gators 67)
- Florida stormed back with the first eight points of the quarter to cut the deficit to 57-54. A layup by Nidi Yiech tied the game at 60 with 4:21 left, and her three-pointer at 2:19 gave Florida a 65-64 lead. After trading baskets, Liv McGill’s fast break layup with 1:51 put the Gators ahead 67-66. Those would be Florida’s final points, as Tulsa closed with an 8-0 run. Nidi Yiech scored 11 in the quarter on perfect 3-for-3 shooting, while her teammates combined to go 3-of-12.
KEY STATS
- Tulsa hit 9-of-24 from three-point range, while Florida went 4-of-16. Those nine threes are the second-most allowed by Florida this season (Navy, 10-of-22 on Nov. 16, 2025).
- Florida committed 23 turnovers, which Tulsa converted into 32 points. The Gators forced 19 Tulsa turnovers, turning them into 19 points.
