Graduate guard Bennett Andersen of the Florida men's basketball program has earned a spot on the 2025 Southeastern Conference Men's Basketball Community Service Team, as announced Wednesday by the SEC.

Andersen, who hails from Tampa, Fla., helped launch the Gainesville branch of Sleep in Heavenly Peace and serves on its executive committee. The organization focuses on building, assembling, and delivering beds for children and families who lack them. Since opening in late 2023, the Gainesville chapter has provided more than 100 beds to households in the area.

In addition to working on-site during group build days—events that routinely draw about 100 volunteers—Andersen also leads the chapter’s fundraising efforts. His work contributed to raising over $50,000 in 2024, supporting the ongoing construction and delivery of beds across the community.

Academically, Andersen completed his Industrial & Systems Engineering degree with Cum Laude honors in Summer 2024. Before joining the active roster in 2023, he spent three seasons serving as a team manager for the Gators.
