Consensus first-team All-American Walter Clayton Jr. has helped Florida to eight top-25 wins this season.

Florida senior guard Walter Clayton Jr. was named to the first-team All-America squads by both the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) and the U.S. Basketball Writers Association (USBWA) on Wednesday, securing his place as a consensus first-team All-American.

The Lake Wales, Fla., native has now collected first-team honors from all four recognized selectors, with these latest awards joining those previously announced by the Associated Press and The Sporting News. Clayton’s standout play has been central to Florida’s success, guiding the program to its fourth 30-win campaign, fifth SEC Tournament title, and third No. 1 NCAA Tournament seed in school history.

This achievement makes Clayton the first Gator to ever receive first-team All-America recognition from any outlet, and the first to sweep all four major honors. His performance in the SEC Tournament, where he was named MVP, helped Florida capture its first conference tournament championship since 2014.

The Gators will return to action in the NCAA Tournament’s opening round on Friday at 6:50 p.m. against Norfolk State in Raleigh, N.C., with coverage airing on TNT.
