College GameDay Set to Electrify Gainesville on March 1

Admission is free and no tickets required to attend. Gates open for students at 8:30 and general public at 8:45.

ESPN’s College GameDay Covered by State Farm will be back in Gainesville on Saturday, March 1, ahead of the No. 2 Florida men’s basketball team’s sold-out matchup against No. 7 Texas A&M, the network announced.


Admission to the event is free, with no tickets required. Doors at Exactech Arena at the Stephen C. O’Connell Center will open at 8:30 a.m. for students (Gate 3) and 8:45 a.m. for the general public (Gate 1). Parking will be available on a first-come, first-served basis in Lot 25 and Garage 7 next to the arena. Limited concessions will also be offered.


This marks the sixth time Gainesville has hosted the show and the Gators’ 10th appearance in a GameDay-featured contest. With six hostings, Florida joins Duke, North Carolina, Kansas, and Kentucky among the top five most frequent GameDay sites.


Rece Davis, Andraya Carter, Seth Greenberg, Jay Williams, and Pete Thamel will be on site, with Jay Bilas contributing remotely. Florida has a 7-2 record when GameDay is present, including a 4-1 mark at home.


Timeline for March 1

  • 8:30 a.m. – Doors open for UF students at Gate 3
  • 8:45 a.m. – Doors open for general public at Gate 1
  • 10:00 a.m. – College GameDay live from the O’Connell Center (free admission) Note: The arena will be cleared following the conclusion of the show.
  • 7:30 p.m. – Doors reopen for Florida vs. Texas A&M
  • 8:30 p.m. – Tipoff for Florida vs. Texas A&M


Entry Procedures

  • Normal O'Connell Center entry procedures regarding screening and prohibited items will be in effect.
  • All signs will be reviewed and any deemed inappropriate will be confiscated.
