GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The men’s gym inside the Hugh Hathcock Basketball Complex may be packed with displays, but there’s always room — with some creative rearranging — for more life-size Final Four memorabilia.
Now six mock floors, each featuring its respective Final Four logo, hang above the Florida Gators’ practice court. The latest addition commemorates the 2025 journey to San Antonio and the program’s third NCAA championship, installed by workers this week.
"We're incredibly proud to bring more hardware into our practice facility," UF coach Todd Golden said Friday.
The San Antonio floor, showcasing vibrant mission and fiesta-inspired designs, joined replicas from the Gators’ earlier Final Four appearances in Charlotte (1994), Indianapolis (2000 and 2006), Atlanta (2007), and North Texas (2014).
The newest piece was mounted on the right side of the north wall, while the 2014 floor was shifted to the left. Two large posters featuring the Rowdy Reptiles and honoring past NCAA title teams were removed and will be replaced with three national championship banners positioned in the center of the wall.
The cut-outs, aside from the 2007 piece, are not actual sections from Final Four courts.
UF purchased the ’07 floor, selling portions as souvenirs but keeping half to display in the practice facility.
The 2006 Final Four floor was acquired from the Indy Sports Corp to replace the aging court at the O'Connell Center, where both men’s and women’s teams played for over a decade before it was retired.
The ’94, ’00, ’06, ’14, and now ’25 pieces are replica center courts, specially ordered by the University Athletic Association.
And each one is stunning.
Especially the newest.
"The floors on the wall remind us of all the great successes that have created the history, tradition, and success of this program," Golden said. "To be able to add to that after three years is really special – and we hope to add some more in the future."
