Gators are not done yet for 2025, as they were selected to host Northern Iowa in round one of the WBIT.

Gainesville, Fla. — For the second straight year, the Florida Gators have secured a spot in the Women's Basketball Invitation Tournament (WBIT). On Sunday evening, Florida was awarded a No. 3 seed and will host Northern Iowa (17–16, 11–9 MVC) in the opening round. The game is scheduled for Thursday, March 20 at 7 p.m. ET inside the Exactech Arena at the Stephen C. O’Connell Center (O'Dome).

Florida returns to action after last competing on March 7 in the SEC Tournament quarterfinals, where they fell 101–87 to No. 9 LSU. Despite the loss, six Gators scored in double figures, capping a two-game tournament run for the second consecutive season.

Northern Iowa enters the WBIT following a 64–46 loss to Belmont in the MVC quarterfinals. In that game, Kayba Loube and Maya McDermott each scored 12 points, leading the Panthers offensively.

The 2025 WBIT championship will be held at Hinkle Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, with semifinal games on March 31 and the title game on April 2. The top 16 seeds host first-round matchups, and ESPN will serve as the broadcast partner for all tournament games.
