LAS VEGAS, Nev. - The Florida Gators are set to continue their postseason journey with a second-round matchup in the Women's Basketball Invitation Tournament (WBIT), traveling to Las Vegas to face the UNLV Rebels. Florida enters as the No. 3 seed, while UNLV holds the No. 2 spot. Tip-off is scheduled for Sunday, March 23 at 5:00 p.m. ET inside Cox Pavilion, with live coverage available via ESPN+.

Florida’s Momentum Builds with WBIT Opening Win

The Gators kicked off their WBIT campaign with a commanding 83–71 victory over Northern Iowa on Thursday night in Gainesville. A strong fourth-quarter surge and balanced scoring helped Florida pull away late.


Jeriah Warren led the charge with a career-best 28 points, shooting 10-of-16 from the field and 4-of-8 from three-point range. Supporting the effort were Alexia Gassett (13 points), Ra Shaya Kyle (12), and Laila Reynolds (11), each contributing double-digit scoring.


Defensively, Me'Arah O'Neal and Kyle grabbed seven rebounds apiece, helping Florida control the glass with a 40–30 rebounding edge. The Gators also forced 19 turnovers, converting those into 20 points, and outpaced UNI in three of four quarters to seal the win.

Scouting UNLV: Rebels Riding Momentum into Round Two

UNLV enters the second round of the WBIT with a strong 26–7 overall record for the 2024–25 season. In Mountain West play, the Rebels tallied 16 wins, with their only conference losses coming against Wyoming and San Diego State. Their tournament run ended in the semifinals, falling 71–59 to San Diego State.


Most recently, UNLV secured a 63–46 home victory over Hawaii on Thursday, earning their spot in round two. As the No. 2 seed in the 2025 WBIT, the Rebels host the early rounds at Cox Pavilion.


On the individual front, Amarachi leads UNLV in scoring with an average of 14.2 points per game. She’s joined by three teammates in double figures: Jackson (12.5), Alexander (10.8), and Meadow Roland (10.1). On defense, Brown anchors the boards with 5.8 rebounds per game, followed by Meadow with 4.3.
