The Gators have signed on to participate in the fast-growing Players Era Championship, beginning with the 2026-27 season.

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Florida men’s basketball has entered into a multi-year commitment to compete in the Players Era Men's Championship starting with the 2026 edition, as announced jointly by Players Era and the Gators on Tuesday.

“The Players Era Men's Championship has already become one of the elite multi-team events in a short time, and we're excited to be part of that growth and innovation,” said Florida head coach Todd Golden. “With the field assembled, Players Era will be a central piece of our nonconference schedule for the next several years.”

Florida is set to join a stacked 2026 lineup, expected to include all programs participating in this year’s tournament: Alabama, Auburn, Baylor, Creighton, Gonzaga, Houston, Iowa State, Kansas, Michigan, Notre Dame, Oregon, Rutgers, San Diego State, St. Joseph’s, St. John’s, Tennessee, Syracuse, and UNLV.

“The University of Florida is the current standard bearer of excellence in NCAA men's basketball and there is no higher peak than being able to add the defending national champions to the Players Era Men's Championship,” said Players Era CEO Seth Berger. “Coach Golden has quickly established himself as one of the best coaches in the game, and we thank him for his support of our event and can't wait to see them match up with other premier programs in 2026.”

The 2025 Players Era Men's Championship will be held during Thanksgiving week across multiple venues in Las Vegas, with coverage provided by TNT Sports on TNT, truTV, and HBO Max.
