GAINESVILLE, Fla.—On Monday, Nov. 10, Florida Women’s Basketball will look to extend its unbeaten start to 3-0 when the Gators welcome Jacksonville for a 7 p.m. EST matchup at Exactech Arena inside the Stephen C. O’Connell Center.
The Gators have a history of strong season starts, winning their first three games in 2024-25 and opening 4-0 in 2023-24. The program record for consecutive wins to begin a season is nine, achieved by the 1983-84, 1995-96, and 2000-01 teams.
Florida holds a 4-1 all-time advantage over Jacksonville, winning the last four meetings—all at home and each by double digits. Their most recent matchup came on Nov. 28, 2017 in a 69-59 Florida victory. Haley Lorenzen led with 20 points and 11 rebounds, while Delicia Washington added 12 points and 9 boards.
Heading into Sunday’s action, preseason All-SEC Second Team guard Liv McGill has posted standout numbers, joining statistical company with Caitlin Clark, Kelsey Plum, and even Dwayne Wade (see McGill notes below). She currently ranks third nationally in scoring (32.0 ppg), tied for fifth in assists (9.5 apg), tied for sixth in steals (6.0 spg), and tied for 19th in made three-pointers (4.0 per game).
McGill has had plenty of support. Sophomore Me'Arah O'Neal has opened the season with two double-doubles, ranking tied for fourth in the SEC in rebounds (10.5 rpg) and tied for ninth in blocks (2.0 bpg). Junior Laila Reynolds is averaging 12.0 points and sits tied for fourth in the league in steals (4.0 spg). Three other Gators have already recorded double-digit scoring games, and the team is shooting an impressive 53.0 percent from the field overall.
Jacksonville also enters at 2-0, with non-conference wins over Charleston Southern (86-84) and Florida Tech (75-47). Freshman guard Tatum Brown leads the Dolphins with 18.0 points per game, while graduate guard Priscilla Williams is averaging a 13.0-point, 10.5-rebound double-double. Brown has been efficient, hitting 59.1 percent of her shots, though the team overall is shooting 39.6 percent.

Florida First
Across more than a century of combined men’s and women’s basketball history at Florida, no Gator had ever produced a stat line featuring 38 points with 10 assists, or 38 points with 7 steals.
Liv McGill achieved both milestones in the same contest against Chattanooga on Nov. 6, marking a historic night in program history.
