Gators Surge to No. 3: Florida Earns Elite Preseason Ranking

Florida men's basketball enters the season ranked third in the preseason USA TODAY Sports Coaches poll, which wasreleased on Wednesday. The Gators also picked up one first-place vote.


This is the third instance in program history that Florida has earned a top-five preseason ranking (No. 5 in 2001-02; No. 1 in 2006-07) and the 12th time the team has opened a season inside the coaches' top 10. The poll is determined by voters representing each of the 32 Division I conferences that receive an automatic NCAA tournament bid.


Florida’s schedule includes nine matchups against eight teams ranked in the preseason top 25, with a possible 10th game against Wisconsin at the Rady Children's Invitational. Four more 2025-26 opponents are listed among those receiving votes.


Florida also landed atthird in the AP preseason poll. The Gators begin the 2025-26 campaign against Arizona at the Hall of Fame Series Las Vegas on Nov. 3.

All Gators Weekend Pack

The All Gators Weekend Pack is now on sale, offering access to the Florida men's basketball matchup against Merrimack on Friday, November 21, along with the Florida football game versus Tennessee on Saturday, November 22, for $149 plus taxes/fees.


All fans attending the Merrimack men's basketball game will receive a 2025 NCAA National Championship replica ring, presented by Meldon Law.
