Kevin Olsen returns to the program after two years away. He was previously on Todd Golden's staff during the 2022-23 season.

Florida men's basketball has welcomed Kevin Olsen back to the staff, appointing him to the role of Director of Basketball Strategy and Analytics. Olsen previously served as UF's video coordinator in the 2022-23 season and is returning to Gainesville following two seasons as an assistant coach at his alma mater, the University of San Francisco. This position opened up when Jonathan Safir was promoted to assistant coach during the offseason.

While serving as an assistant coach at San Francisco from 2023 to 2025, Olsen helped lead the Dons to a 48-21 record and earned two NIT appearances. The 2024-25 campaign included notable victories over Saint Mary's and Oregon State on the road, alongside WCC Tournament and NIT wins (against Washington State and Utah Valley, respectively). In the 2023-24 season, USF secured wins over Big Ten and Big East teams, defeating both Minnesota and DePaul.

The Villa Park, California, native originally worked as the video coordinator on Todd Golden's first staff at UF in 2022-23. During that season, the Gators achieved two top-25 victories and earned a spot in the postseason. That campaign also saw Colin Castleton receive All-SEC honors and Riley Kugel earn SEC All-Freshman recognition.

Before his initial tenure at UF, Olsen spent three seasons with the University of San Francisco, starting as the head student manager and later moving into a graduate assistant role on Golden's staff. He completed his sociology degree at San Francisco in 2021.

Prior to his time at San Francisco, Olsen was a team captain for the men's basketball team at Irvine Valley College, where he also coached with West Coast Elite Basketball.

Florida officially begins its 2025-26 campaign on Monday, November 3, meeting Arizona in Las Vegas as part of the Hall of Fame Series.
