
Freshman Liv McGill was recognized by the league, earning SEC All-Freshmen honors ahead of the 2025 SEC Tournament.
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — The Southeastern Conference revealed its 2025 women’s basketball postseason awards on Tuesday morning, with Florida’s Liv McGill earning a spot on the SEC All-Freshman Team.
McGill received the recognition after an impressive debut season in which she led all freshmen nationally in both assists per game and total assists. Across 30 appearances, she tallied 151 assists, averaging five per contest. She also ranked among the top five freshman scorers in the country, finishing with 486 total points in her first collegiate campaign.
The guard averaged 16.2 points per game, reaching double figures in 27 of 30 outings (90%). She recorded 11 games with 20 or more points, including a career-best 28 points at Florida State on Nov. 22, 2024.
McGill’s impact was immediate, as she led the Gators in multiple statistical categories during her freshman year: total points (486), points per game (16.2), field goals made (183), assists (151), steals (57), and minutes played (30:32).
