Walter Clayton Jr. has helped lead Florida to a 21-3 record this season.

Florida senior guard Walter Clayton Jr. has been selected to the Naismith Trophy Men’s College Player of the Year Midseason Team, as announced Friday by the Atlanta Tipoff Club.

Clayton scored 19 points in each of Florida’s recent top-25 road victories, including last Saturday’s historic win at Auburn — the program’s first-ever road triumph over a No. 1-ranked opponent. He followed that performance with four made three-pointers at Mississippi State, marking his eighth game this season with four or more shots from beyond the arc.

The Lake Wales native is averaging 17.5 points per game overall, 18.0 in SEC play, and leads the team with 94 assists. Earlier in the week, he was also added to the Wooden Award's updated watch list.

Florida will return to Exactech Arena/O’Connell Center on Saturday at 8:30 p.m. for a sold-out SEC matchup against South Carolina.
