Consensus first-team All-American Walter Clayton Jr. has helped Florida to eight top-25 wins this season.

Florida senior guard Walter Clayton Jr. continued his standout 2024-25 season by earning Associated Press first-team All-America recognition on Tuesday.

Clayton has been a consistent scorer, reaching double figures in 29 of his 33 games this year, including each of the last 18. Over his recent stretch, he has posted 18 points in nine of the last 12 contests and recorded 11 games with 20 or more points. His impact was especially evident in the SEC Tournament, where he scored 22 points in both the semifinal victory over No. 5 Alabama and the championship win against No. 8 Tennessee.

The Lake Wales, Fla., native has totaled 579 points this season, ranking 10th in single-season scoring in program history. He joins Neal Walk as the only Gators to appear multiple times among Florida’s top-10 scoring seasons, having also tallied 633 points last year, the fifth-highest mark ever.

Clayton has already been recognized as a first-team All-American by The Sporting News and earned first-team All-SEC honors from the Associated Press, USA Today, and SEC coaches. He was named SEC Tournament MVP after leading Florida to its first conference tournament title since 2014, and he remains in contention as a finalist for the Bob Cousy Point Guard of the Year Award.
