GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Florida women’s basketball head coach Kelly Rae Finley announced that Czech guard/forward Emilie Brzonova will join the program’s freshman class for the 2026-27 season. Brzonova currently competes with Faenza Basket Project in Italy’s Serie A2 and previously played for Stella Azzurra Roma in the same league.
"Emilie is a tremendous addition to our program," said Finley. "Her competitiveness, discipline, and love for the game stand out in everything she does. She embodies the team-first mentality and the relentless work ethic that is in our locker room. We're thrilled to welcome her to Gator Nation!"
Brzonova represented the Czech Republic’s U18 National Team in 2024, where she averaged 13.8 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 2.3 assists while shooting 48.0 percent from three-point range at the FIBA U18 Women’s EuroBasket. Her performance earned her a place on the All-Star Five.
She also played in the FIBA U16 Women’s European Championship in 2022, posting averages of 13.3 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 2.1 assists. Additional international experience includes the 2023 FIBA U18 Women’s European Championship and the 2025 FIBA U19 Women’s Basketball World Cup.
With Brzonova’s commitment, Florida’s 2026-27 recruiting class now features three newcomers, as Arynn Finley and Kennedy Holman signed earlier this month.
